Final music video

Hey, welcome back! I can happily announce that my group and I have been able to produce the final version of our music video! I felt as though this project gave us the chance to improve on the areas we struggled in before and find unique ways to go about resolving issues, whether that be as complex as trying a new software program or as simple as positioning our camera at a different angle to make sure that we could hide the extra shadows peeking into our scenes. On the topic of software programs, we were able to use Davinci Resolve 17 and familiarize ourselves with an entirely new platform that possesses a wide range of useful tools that we'll be sure to employ in future endeavors to aid in our insertion of various clips and dynamic transitions. Working on this music video allowed my fellow groupmates and I to hone in on our abilities and specialize in what we're best at so that we could ensure that our final product was representative of our matured filming capabilities. I

Cutting to the finish line

Hello! It is our last editing blog until we upload our final product. We started by taking all our clips into our editing software for review. In the meantime, one of my group-mates browsed the internet for mp3 sound files to include in our music videos for background noise. We were specifically looking for doors opening, the swooshing when an iPhone message gets sent, and ding whenever you get a notification. When we were finished converting youtube videos into mp3 files we moved on to the next step. I assisted my group-mate in removing the sound from all our clips. After we were done removing all the sound and helped edit mp3 files into our film. One of my members had many problems with the program that she was using to edit. For the scene in question, we had to blur the background and blur the couple walking by. It was extremely difficult the blur. The program my teammate was using just wasn't cooperating. So I was thinking of what I could do to help. I remember a friend of min

Eating Filming Up

Today is our second day of filming. As usual. Everyone met up at my house so that after we could go to the diner and start filming. I went to get my car keys so my group and I could film our car scene again. After I filmed our actor getting out of the car I had my father drive my group to the diner. Prior to arriving at the diner one of our group-mates had requested permission from the owner to film our music video. Once we had arrived we had shown our email of approval for filming to a hostess. Then we were seated at a booth away from other customers since we didn't want to disturb them. After we were situated and seated. I had waited for the diner to clear out before I started recording our actor. Then the actor and I had begun recording at the front of the diner. The scene starts with the actor's foot stepping through the doorway prior to the scene before. After we had finished recording the clip we headed back to the table. We ordered a burger and fries for the actor and a

Putting things Together

Now it was time to edit what we had together. I sadly couldn’t edit that much or put a lot of my input into the beginning of the editing process. I had to go to a dentist appointment while my group was editing. Beforehand I was there for 30 minutes. My group and I discussed the storyboards and how we would put each scene together. Jordyn would be our main editor and she is using clip champ to edit. I had a few questions about timing. I was a bit worried about how everything would lay out due to the fact that we still needed to cut some seconds off scenes. But they ended up working out at the end. Then I talked to my group about the sound effects that we will be using. For example to indicate the car doors slamming and the text notification. Which then after Jordyn showed me later in the day. I was gone for most of the whole period. So I only had a little time to crunch in what I could’ve done. Later in the day I texted Jordyn to help me catch up with the whole group. Then showed me

It was the first day of filming. Everyone showed up at my house so before that I cleaned my  house to get ready for filming. I waited for everybody to get there. Then it was time to plan the first scene and go to our first filming location. It was my brother's room so we had to clean up and try to make it look messy so that it could fit the aesthetic that we were going for. I took a bunch of clothes from my brother's room and scatter them along the room trying to make it look messy. After that, it was time to film our first angle which was a medium shot of the actor's phone at a side angle. I was in charge of filming that scene and keeping the music in sync with what I was filming, so I had to memorize the timing. For scene 2 it was filming the actor in the center of the frame in a medium shot. I helped adjust the lighting for that sense so it would seem more dark and gloomy and not so bright. After I filmed a medium close-up shot behind Brandon showing him clearing away me
